As parents, my husband and I want the very best for our children - best schools, educational toys and a loving family setup, however, at the top of our list is making sure that we disciple our children to become valuable vessels in the body of Christ.
One of the things we did very early was to discard any kids' programmes that promoted ungodly behaviour and/or have subtle witchcraft messages. When we did this, we realised that most of the kids' programmes were not clean. We also discovered that even with kids' books, there's always words like "magical", "spell" and "unicorns".
This discovery has made us very sceptical with purchasing kids' books, so I was delighted when I saw a Christian children's book on my Facebook timeline!

Who is Kgomotso Tessa?
Kgomotso Tessa is young lady from Johannesburg South Africa, who is loved by Jesus and loves Him in return.
What inspired you to write this book?
I was inspired by my own journey. I only came to know the Lord in my final year of university and I always felt like if I had received my salvation or at least heard sound teachings as a young child then there are some things in my life that I would not have had to face or would have been able to face them better armed with the word of God So, the writing of this book is to equip children in a way that they can understand so that they can be strengthened to face the world.
Who are your target audience? (Age group of the kids that the book will appeal to)
I truly believe that it is never too early to start teaching your children the word. Therefore, for the younger ones who are unable to read, parents can teach them to read this book as they learn the different letters and words of the alphabets. For the older children who are able to read on their own, they can open the different scriptures that are attached to every letter. It's truly a book for children of any age and I would also encourage it for adults who just started their walk with Christ as the book details the foundations of the gospel.
How long did it take you to write this book?
I have been writing this book with breaks in between since May/June 2021.
How has the reaction of the kids and parents who have read the book been so far?
They have been loving the book so much! The response has been overwhelmingly good!
Should we be expecting more Christian kids' books from you?
Yes! There is more to come!
What is your favourite part about your book?
My favourite part of the book is the salvation prayer at the end of the book because heaven rejoices when one sinner repents, and it is truly my prayer that the little people who will read this book will be impacted and that the Holy Spirit will do His work in their hearts and lead them to Jesus Christ.
